Duality OCT- Round One- Magesby ~pettyartist

Milena looks down from Flet at all of the guild members in the set of wagons below as they travel to their destination- she flying and the members riding in the caravan she hired. After an hour of travel, she lands Flet and halts the caravan amidst an open field, asking the members to exit the wagons and form a line.

From Flet, she removes a large, black bag filled with unmarked apricorn balls- all identical in every way.

She turns to face the guild with a grim look on her face.

"I will be rather blunt-- the storm of war is nigh in our nation. I believe things are coming to head much earlier than expected. I have called you out here for a simple test, solely for the purpose of selecting a small group of members I can call aid to in the times ahead. Pass and you shall be among the small force I will be training by my own hand. Those who do not meet the expectations should not be discouraged- I will not turn down a helping hand, should the need arise. We will need all the aid we can manage soon enough."

She lifts an apricorn from the sack.

"My test is simple. I will be calling you each in pairs that I have chosen prior to our meeting here. You will place your pokemon within these unmarked balls and hand them to me. Pygra shall shuffle them and distribute them evenly between the two. You must then face each other in a knockout battle using what pokemon you have received."

Several gasps are heard as well as hissed (and not so silent) curses and mutterings amongst the mostly shocked faces of the line of mages.

Milena smiles. "Don't fret, the switch is only for this battle. The goal of this is to see how you handle improvisation and how well you have observed your fellow guild members. Those who have taken the time to study and unconsciously prepare will be the ones victorious."

She places the ball back in the sack and places it open on the ground in front of her.

"So without further waiting, the first two competing will be..."

Hidey ho competitors!

As you can see above, round one's objective is rather simple.

Each of you has been randomly paired up against the other using a randomizer.

Each of your character's pokemon has also been randomized- those who end up having uneven teams, the last pokemon remaining will NOT be used in the battle.

The battle is a knockout match-- first person to knock out ALL of the other team's pokemon is the winner.

There are no battle boundaries

I actually have a question about this now that I started my round. Will they head straight back to the guild once this is over? I thought it was a fairly safe assumption, but I wanted to be sure.

Pretty flat, with some valleys/hills around. Nothing crazy mountainy.

Feel like this is a dumb question, but is it one on one only or is double or triple battling ok? Also what about uneven battling, like one against two and so on?
